Seaford man injured in police shoot-out named

THE GUNMAN who received life-threatening injuries following a shoot-out with police in Seaford has been named as Paul Allwright.

He was wounded after a five-hour stand-off with officers at his North Way home in the early hours of Sunday (September 16).

Sussex Police were called to a domestic incident just after 7pm on Saturday evening and a woman left the house safely a short time later.

Police are carrying out house-to-house enquiries, as well as reassurance visits from the local neighbourhood police team officers.

Mr Allwright is in a medically-induced coma and his condition is described as stable.

The shooting is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
