Seaford: man charged with attempted murder
A SEAFORD man is due to appear in court today (Friday) after being charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.
Retired Paul Allwright was also charged with possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life in relation to an incident in North Way on Sunday September 16.
Allwright, 62, from North Way, was arrested on Wednesday (October 10) following his release from hospital, having been injured by police during the incident.
He is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is conducting an independent investigation into Sussex Police’s use of firearms during the incident.
