Seaford half marathon

PREPARATIONS are in place for the annual Seaford half marathon organised by the Lions.

The Seaford Half Marathon will take place on June 3 and takes in a circular route around the town.

The Newhaven, Peacehaven and Seaford Lions organise the run to raise funds for local good causes.

The Lions run two minibuses for use in the community transporting many elderly and disabled people to clubs and meetings.

They have a fully disabled friendly mobile home providing holiday accommodation and donate money regularly to local groups such as Seaford Lifeguards, St John Ambulance, First Responders, schools and youth groups.

The marathon raises money for the Lions but also gives people the chance to raise money for their chosen charity.

The marathon will start from Seaford Rugby Club and takes in the South Downs, Alfriston and the Cuckmere.

It is open to all runners, joggers and walkers and takes place whatever the weather.

All runners must be 18 or over but under 18s can enter as a walker and as part of a group entry with an adult or guardian as group leader.

To register before the event you must apply before May 18, after this date entries will only be accepted on the day and will cost 1 more.

Before May 18 entry for an adult will be 7, a child up to 13 5 and for a family of up to five with two adults and up to three children under 16 will be 18.
