Seaford author's 'novel' way to support cause
A SEAFORD author is helping to raise funds for a good cause through the sale of his latest publication.
Giles Paley-Phillips has penned There's A Lion in My Bathroom and a percentage of the profits from the sale of each copy of the book will be donated to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. The charity is one close to his heart as he lost his mother to the disease when he was six-years-old.
The book is intended for children but is equally appealing to adults.
Giles was born in East Sussex and grew up on the south coast. He pursued a career in music, and spent a number of years performing extensively around the UK.
The-father-of-two took an interest in children's writing after the birth of his first son and a chance encounter with a collection of nonsense poetry in a charity shop, he was inspired to turn his attention to children's writing.
There's A Lion In My Bathroom is his debut book which includes a collection of nonsense poetry by author Giles accompanied by illustrations by talented new illustrator Matthew Dawson.
The latest book by Giles, who has several picture books being released in 2011 with Gullane children's books and Maverick arts publishing, is available on Rebel books LLP.
The book will be available to buy at British Bookshops and stationers, Waterstones and other leading and independent bookshops.
