Roy Grace detective novelist to visit town

crime author peter james

crime author peter james

World-famous crime author Peter James will be on the Hailsham beat for one night only in the summer.

The writer is one of the UK’s most treasured crime and thriller novelists, and is booked to appear at the Hailsham Old Pavilion in June.

His Roy Grace detective novels have sold more than five million in the UK alone and 13 million worldwide in total. The series is now translated into 36 languages.

Peter’s most recent Roy Grace novels, Dead Like You, Dead Man’s Grip and Not Dead Yet went straight into the Sunday Times bestseller lists at number one in both hardback and paperback, and Not Dead Yet toppled the Fifty Shades Of Grey trilogy off the number one paperback fiction slot in October, ending its 250-week domination of the chart.

His novella The Perfect Murder (published in 2010), went straight in at number one in the iBooks chart and spent 40 consecutive weeks in the iBooks Top 10.

Peter is an established film producer and script writer. He has produced numerous films, including The Merchant Of Venice, starring Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Joseph Fiennes. A TV adaptation of the Roy Grace series is currently in development, with Peter overseeing all aspects, including the scriptwriting.

This promises to be an interesting and lively talk, with the author answering questions and signing copies of his latest book, Dead Man’s Time. Books will be available to buy on the night and Peter will personally sign them.

Tickets to the evening, which takes place on Tuesday June 18 at 7.30pm, are now on sale from the Hailsham Pavilion box 0ffice on 841414, priced £8. Hailsham Old Pavilion Society expects demand to be high and advises early booking to guarantee a ticket

The cost of the hardback books will be around £20. Please note that there are no card or cheque facilities so any books purchased will need to be paid for in cash..
