Relaunch for kids’ hearing service
A SERVICE to provide hearing assessments and care to children across Eastbourne and East Sussex has been relaunched.
The specialist audiology team will now provides a screening, diagnostic and treatment service for babies and children with hearing difficulties up to the age of 17 years.
Clinics will be held in various venues, including Eastbourne Park Primary Care Centre, and Ian Woodward, head of paediatric audiology for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, said, “The development of a dedicated paediatric audiology service will be of great benefit for the children of East Sussex.
“Until recently, many children would have been seen at general audiology clinics alongside adult patients. We’ve now introduced clinics that are solely for babies and children with dedicated staff who are specifically trained to work with them, in community locations.
“This makes the service more family friendly and easier to access.”
