Red Cross branch cash boost for the Blind Society

EASTBOURNE Blind Society has been given a £200 cash boost.

The money was presented by the Eastbourne branch of the Red Cross of Constantine chairman Brian McIntyre to the blind society’s chief executive Deirdre Dean.

Mr McIntyre has become a member of the society recently and was behind the proposal to donate money from a recent fundraising lunch be given to support the work of the charity.

Mr McIntyre was accompanied by Bob Lacey OBE and both enjoyed a tour of the facilities and an explanation of some of the work carried out by Eastbourne Blind Society, which supports almost 1,000 people across East Sussex but primarily in Eastbourne.
