Police search for man in connection with scam

A MAN who ran charity shops in Eastbourne town centre is being hunted by police in connection with a ticketing scam.

Raymond John Hyde, also known as Raymond Fitzgerald and Raymond Harris, is 42 and wanted for questioning by detectives and Trading Standards officers in relation to Magnitude Events Ltd, a Hastings-based ticket company which provoked complaints from people who paid concert tickets but never received them.

Police have released images of Hyde to help try and track him down. Altogether, hundreds of people have lost money for concert tickets purchased through the company's website.

Hyde worked for some time running Adaption4Action charity shops in Pevensey.

He is known in the Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill areas but police say he could be anywhere in the UK.

Anyone with information about Hyde's whereabouts is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting serial 840 of 25 February, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
