Pevensey open day

PEVENSEY Community Fire Station will be marking its 100th year anniversary on Saturday May 12.

Crews are organising an array of fun events for all the family and are throwing open their doors and inviting the local community to join them between 10am–4pm.

There will be something for all the family and crews have arranged for historical vehicles to be on-site, as well as photographs of the station and the crews, dating back over the past century.

If you’re feeling energetic, the Coaching for a Safer Community football team will be there and you can join them for a bout of penalty shoot-outs. There will be a range of demonstrations along with stalls and lots of friendly staff who can talk to you about fire safety in the home.

Retained crew manager Chris Freeman said, “Firefighters from Pevensey are really looking forward to welcoming members of the public to the fire station to celebrate our 100 year anniversary. We hope it will be a really fun and interesting day. Come along and support your local firefighters. We’d love to see you.”
