PC cleared of driving charge
AN EASTBOURNE policeman has been cleared of reckless driving.
PC Gary Pinyoun was found not guilty after a four day trial at Hastings Magistrates Court last week.
The Crown Prosecution Service brought the case after an accident on Beachy Head Road in July last year when a Ford Ka pulling out of Bullock Down Farm was hit at 70mph by a marked patrol car being driven by PC Pinyoun.
The court had heard Ka driver Elizabeth Evans and her passenger Laura Hill, both 17, both suffered serious injuries in the incident. Both cars were also written off in the accident.
PC Pinyoun is based at Eastbourne Police Station in Hammonds Drive.
