Panto stars to let there be lights
THE cast of Eastbourne's pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, will be lighting up the Little Christmas event in Little Chelsea on Friday, December 4.
Actors for this year's Devonshire Park Theatre pantomime includes Emma Barton, best known for her long standing role as Honey Mitchell in EastEnders, local actor Kevin Pallister as Fleshcreep, Martyn Knight as Dame Trott and Carl Patrick as Simple Simon.
Available cast members will be taking time out from rehearsals to officially turn on the new Christmas lights for Grove Road and South Street as the event starts at 5.30pm.
Both roads will be closed to traffic and the area will be filled with festive food and drink, and a whole range of entertainment.
Along with a Santa's Grotto and visit from two reindeer, there will be a treasure trail, rodeo reindeer, live music, choir singing, street entertainers, an opportunity for late night shopping, and more.
Tickets for a Christmas draw will also be on sale throughout November from the shops, pubs, cafes and businesses of Little Chelsea. Priced at 1 each they will help raise money for local charities, including Age Concern, St Wilfrid's Hospice and the WRVS.
The lucky winners will be drawn at the event with prizes ranging from a family holiday to Center Parcs and a break for two in a top Jersey hotel sponsored by Premier Travel, to a trip on a Tiger Moth, a Jaguar for the weekend courtesy of Caffyns, a luxury Christmas hamper from Roots and Boots and tickets for the pantomime.
