‘Panic buying’ in Seaford as snow settles

Shoppers headed to Morrisons to stock up on goods.

Customers flocked to Morrisons in Seaford this morning (Friday) as snow settled across Sussex.

People appeared to be ‘panic buying’ as they headed to the Dane Road store and stocked up on goods. This photo was tweeted by @Seaford_Police who added, “If you come to Morrisons today be sure to bring some patience with you!”

Snow arrived in the county this morning and led to dozens of school closures.

On the East Sussex County Council website Alfriston School, Annecy School, Chyngton School and Cradle Hill School were listed as those that had closed because of the weather or were due to shut their doors by lunchtime today.
