Natural England takes man to court

A BUSINESSMAN who owns the Lions Hotels on Eastbourne seafront and farmland in Pevensey is being taken to court by Natural England.

Sheikh Abid Gulzar has been summoned to appear at Eastbourne Magistrates Court on June 7 at 2.15pm.

Natural England are accusing Mr Gulzar of carrying out unauthorised activities on Pevensey Levels, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The organisation has brought the prosecution under Section 28P of the Wildlife and Countryside Act.
