MP set to jump out of plan for charity
EASTBOURNE MP is set to take a sky-dive next month to raise money for charities across the town.
Every year Eastbourne AM donates vouchers to the local Refuge domestic violence centre, and they have again teamed up with ESK and social services to supply Christmas presents this year to disadvantaged children, who would otherwise go without.
Mr Lloyd, who is a member of Eastbourne Rotary AM, and a keen supporter of all five rotary clubs across the town, volunteered to do the jump, in order to raise funds for these two very worthy causes.
He said, “At a recent rotary meeting we discussed a number of possible initiatives to boost our charity fundraising in the run up to Christmas. “When it was suggested I could do a sky dive, it made me a tad nervous, but I take my responsibility as a Rotarian very seriously. So, I thought ‘why not?’ and agreed to give it a go.”
Weather permitting Mr Lloyd will be travelling to Headcorn Airport, near Maidstone in Kent on Monday October 1.
