Man seriously injured after collision
A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after the car he was driving collided with a fence in Hailsham this morning (Thursday).
Emergency services were called to the scene in South Road at 5.08am where a silver Volkswagen Polo left the road and hit a fence before overturning.
The driver was freed from the car by firefighters and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The incident closed the A295, one of the main routes into Hailsham off the A22 and police said it was likely to cause a significant amount of morning rush hour disruption.
