Man arrested after gun find

A MAN was arrested after he was found carrying a gun on a bus.

Police were called after Matthew Jarvis, 24, of Merlin Court, Hailsham, was allegedly spotted carrying a weapon under a sheet in Heathfield.

Jarvis was said by police to be drunk when he was detained shortly after 7.30pm Tuesday last week, on a bus in Heathfield High Street.

He was charged with possessing an unloaded air weapon in a public place and will appear before magistrates in Eastbourne on Friday.
