A 67-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after falling from a balcony in the North Harbour.

The man fell around 35ft from a balcony in Macquarie Quay and suffered spinal, pelvis, chest and abdominal injuries.

Sussex Air Ambulance attended the scene along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service following the incident on Thursday (February 21) afternoon.

Sussex Air Ambulance received a call just before 1pm and arrived at the harbour within 14 minutes, landing on the beach nearby.

The injured man was treated at the scene before being flown to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

A resident who lives nearby said, “He had fallen by the time I got in.

“One of my neighbours had called the ambulance.

“She saw something going over the balcony and called them.”
