Let’s party Eastbourne!

PRETTY teenager Chelsea Spence is preparing for one of the biggest weekends of her life when she becomes the Eastbourne Sunshine Carnival Queen.

The 17-year-old, who is a student at Sussex Downs College, will be one of the chief attractions tomorrow when the carnival returns to Eastbourne after a gap of 15 years.

The carnival procession, which gets under way at 6pm, will be kicking off a bumper Bank Holiday weekend.

On Sunday, thousands of joggers and runners will take part in Race For Life at Eastbourne Sports Park in aid of Cancer Research UK.

And then on Monday, the town will be decked in red, white and blue to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a host of street parties and celebrations.

All we need now is for the sun to shine on Eastbourne for this one big weekend of partying!
