Join DGH fight by writing to health minister

HEALTH campaigners want Herald readers to fill in a coupon and send it to the health minister urging him to step in and kibosh the controversial centralisation plans.

The Save the DGH team is hoping as many people as possible will post the coupon in an envelope to Jeremy Hunt, who became health minister earlier this week in a cabinet reshuffle.

Liz Walke and her Save the DGH campaign colleagues are quick to point out comments coming from the Coalition which said no changes to key services like the NHS should take place without local people being given the chance to have their say.

The hope is that if enough people put pen to paper, Mr Hunt may put an end to the proposals.

Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd said, “The Government has said on many occasions that these changes can only go ahead if local residents agree with them.

“So we need as many people as possible to make it clear to the Trust that we do not support the proposed downgrade of our core services.”

The coupon can be found in today’s Herald on Page 4.
