Jewel in Eastbourne Pier's crown unveiled

EASTBOURNE PIER unveiled the latest jewel in its crown last week with the opening of the Ocean Suite.

The Ocean Suite is in what was for many years the Channel Bar at the end of the Victorian landmark and has been transformed into a sophisticated venue with stunning decor, magnificent 360 degree views of the coast plus an outdoor terrace area.

The venue is being marketed as the ideal spot for functions, weddings and already bookings are being taken for the four day Airbourne show in August.

The Ocean Suite was the brainchild of Kevin Scott, the operations director of Six Piers, who during a regular site visit to Eastbourne in 2009, uncovered the disused area at the end of the pier and had a vision of what it could become.

Fast forward through twelve months of negotiations and extensive renovations and the Ocean Suite has finally emerged.

General manager of Eastbourne Pier, Christos Stylianou, has been involved from conception through to finish of the 250,000 project and said, "This has been a living, breathing project for more than 12 months. The team here is so passionate about the Ocean Suite and I am delighted and very proud to open the doors to guests.

"The views are astounding and the elegant finish of the scheme coupled with the unrivalled location will amaze guests as they arrive for any event."

The Ocean Suite can accommodate up to 250 guests and has already been booked for a number of corporate events, several weddings and will play host to a party during the Eastbourne Airbourne event giving visitors the best view of all the flight action.
