Jehovah’s Witnesses set for massive convention

JEHOVAH’S Witnesses from Eastbourne are gearing up for a massive convention at the new AMEX Stadium.

More than 450 members of the three congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Eastbourne will be attending their three day annual convention from Friday June 29-July 1.

The Witnesses have out grown the Brighton Centre where they have met for the last 17 year and the numbers of Jehovah’s Witnesses continues to increase in Eastbourne too which made it necessary to form a new and third congregation recently.

The Bible based convention will have a theme of Safeguard Your Heart.

Graham Dumelow, an elder who lives in Gainsborough Crescent, Eastbourne, said, “We are really excited to be holding our convention at the AMEX stadium this year. The extra space, comfortable seating and excellent facilities will enable so many more of our friends to enjoy being together and to listen to practical guidance from God’s Word, the Bible.”

John Elms from the organisation said local residents may have recently received a personal printed invitation from someone calling at their door as part of a special campaign to invite all interested ones.

All members of the public are welcome to attend any part of the three day programme, without charge and session times are from 9.20am to 4.55pm each day.

A number of elders from Eastbourne have the special responsibility of presenting various parts of the program and addressing the large audience. These speakers include Max Partridge and his son Paul, Don Walker, Ian Mutter and Stephen Summerfield.
