Huw Curry in a hurry for the RNLI

The presentation of the cheque

The presentation of the cheque

A GENEROUS youngster has raised £315 for the RNLI thanks to his pedal power.

Ratton School pupil Huw Curry had already netted £150 for the local lifesavers by biking 15 kilometres round the outskirts of Eastbourne.

And, not happy enough with that effort, the 12-year-old started the new year with another cycle, this time 40k – dragging his long suffering dad along for the ride.

As a way of thanking young Huw, the RNLI team invited him down to the station to meet the crew and while there he handed over a bumper cheque to the lifeboat operations manager Paul Metcalfe.
