A military historian will give people in Eastbourne a fascinating insight into the creation of a Hollywood blockbuster .

Fans of the First World War drama War Horse will be in for a treat on Saturday 13 October, as the military consultant behind the film heads to the Redoubt Fortress to bring his own unique expertise and behind the scenes view.

Andy Robertshaw is a pre-eminent military historian who lectures around the world on all aspects of British military history.

He was chosen by Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg to ensure historical accuracy of the production.

It tells the story of Joey the horse and his young owner Albert, and their dramatic journey through the First World War.

Andy worked on the film script and research throughout the pre-production stage before spending much of Autumn 2010 on location advising Spielberg.

The talk starts at 2.30pm and includes a Q&A session, refreshments and book signing.

Tickets cost £12.50 (£10 concessions) from the Redoubt or telephone 01323 410300.
