Severe weather during the Christmas and New Year has seen a big increase in potholes in East Sussex.
The heavy rain has contributed to road repair problems with more than 500 potholes reported to East Sussex County Council since Christmas Eve. Council road bosses say they are doing all they can to tackle the big potholes and programme in the less severe problems into their busy work schedule.
Councillor Carl Maynard, lead member for transport and environment, said, “We’re sending extra work gangs out to repair the most serious potholes as soon as they are reported.”
The county council is asking for people to report any potholes they find at: www.eastsussex.gov.uk/contactus/reportaproblem or phone on 0345 60 80 193.
