THE NHS trust which runs the DGH has appointed a new director of nursing.
Alice Webster has been deputy director of nursing for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust since the integration community services into the Trust last year, and has been interim director since May.
She was previously associate director of nursing for East Sussex Community Health Services and prior to that had held a number of senior nursing positions in Sussex, Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester.
Speaking to the Gazette, she said, “As director of nursing I will continue to ensure that patients are at the heart of everything that we do and that the local population has confidence in the organisation.
“Staff working in both acute and community settings should be able to take pride in their achievements whilst meeting future challenges and feel supported in all that they do.”
As director of nursing, she is a voting executive director of the Trust’s board.
She takes over from Jane Hentley who left the Trust in May to work for a primary care trust in south west London.
