HAILSHAM: Town’s UFO secrets have come to light
AMAZING accounts describing UFO sightings near Hailsham have been made public for the first time in secret documents released by the Minstry of Defence.
The previously classified UFO files published by The National Archives this month, reveal two separate sightings of possible alien activity near the town including, “cone shaped objects in the sky,” seen in Hailsham on September 11, 2001.
According to the reports, 15 unidentified aircraft were detected on radar approaching the UK between January to July 2001 in the months leading up to the September 11 terrorist attacks in America.
The MoD received just one UFO report on September 11 itself – which came from a woman in Hailsham.
In a message left on an MoD answering machine, the woman claims she was driving through Hailsham shortly after midnight on September 11 when she saw a “very large round object” overhead followed by another “green and conical” shaped object travelling very fast in parallel with her car.
She pulled over by the side of the road, got out and watched the silent objects for roughly three to four seconds before they disappeared behind the tree line.
She reported what she had seen two days later but the MoD found the sightings contained nothing of an air defence significance.
Just weeks earlier in July 2001, a commercial airline pilot from Hellingly was in his back garden with his son when he saw a mysterious “large eagle” made up of three joined circles hovering half a mile away.
The pilot, who is described as a “credible witness,” in the MOD report, said he watched the mysterious flying object for five minutes before reporting the incident to the police.
The UFO files which detail thousands of UFO sightings across the UK between 2000 and 2005 reveal how the UFO phenomenon was discussed at the highest level of government and Security Services worldwide, including at the United Nations, the US Central Intelligence Agency and was even the subject of a debate in the House of Lords.
