Hailsham under 18s nightclub opens

HAILSHAM'S first under 18s nightclub will be opening its doors at the Corn Exchange on March 26, after months of planning.

The Under 18's Nightclub is a joint partnership between The Square Youth Cafe, Hailsham Community College, Active Play, the Youth Development Service (YDS), Sussex Police and The Corn Exchange.

The new event will be held once a month and will showcase up-to-the-minute bands and artists from a wide variety of musical genres including dance, hip-hop and R&B.

A local DJ will provide the entertainment on the night.

Hailsham Town Council's youth project coordinator Andy Joyes said, "The introduction of the new monthly Under 18's Nightclub is a great example of multi-agency partnership working between the voluntary sector, local authorities and commercial venues for the benefit of young people in the community.

"I am also delighted that it is the young people in Hailsham themselves that have successfully organised the event and taken a leading role in the provision of entertainment for young people.

"I look forward to working with them, the police and other partnering organisations to provide great and safe nights out in the future."

Running from 8pm-11pm on Friday 26th March, tickets are priced at 2 and are available from The Square Youth Caf.

Tickets will also be available on the door. For more information, contact Andy Joyes (Square Youth Caf) on 01323 841702.
