Gun Hill charity gets two major boosts from Rotary Club
A CHARITY based at Gun Hill, Chiddingly, has received two major boosts this week.
SASBAH – the Sussex Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus – has received 3,000 from Eastbourne AM Rotary Club.
The club organised an opera night earlier this year and donated almost half of the money it raised to SASBAH.
The two organisations are also teaming up to give a weekend holiday to 30 disabled children and respite for their families.
'Breakaway' – at Knowles Tooth Children's Centre in Hurstpierpoint - will take place over this weekend.
Hilary Lewis, the new president of Eastbourne AM, said, "This is a wonderful example of Rotary at its very best supporting local people within our community.
"We are delighted to once again be teaming up with SASBAH and providing this respite for local families.
"The club has been working with SASBAH for more than five years now, and it is a blossoming relationship."
SASBAH general manager Rom Sanglaji added, "We are really pleased to work in partnership with Eastbourne AM to deliver Breakaway which is so worthwhile, and so important for the families we support.
"Rotarians provide the financial support and volunteers to make the weekend possible and we provide nurses, insurance and staff for the three days.
"We are planning a huge summer barbecue and a day of outdoor activities at Hindleap Warren in Forest Row."
