Former Radio 2 DJ in court

A FORMER Radio 2 DJ now living in Hailsham has pleaded not guilty to a child pornography charge.

Retired broadcaster Paul Hollingdale, 75, of Western Road, appeared at Hove Crown Court charged with one count of possessing an indecent photograph of a child.

The court heard a 'level one' image – the lowest level of severity – was found on a computer.

Hollingdale, who was the first voice on BBC Radio 2 when it launched in 1967, spoke only to confirm his real surname of Wynn and enter his not guilty plea. He was granted bail and is expected to appear in court again in August.
