A fork lift truck driver had a shock when the vehicle toppled over as he was delivering goods to a music store in Eastbourne.

The driver fell through the cab outside Bonners Music in Langney Road as he delivered plasterboard to the store, which is undergoing a major shop re-fit.

The incident happened on Wednesday morning last week.

Staff member Tom Parsons said, “I was behind the counter and heard this noise. It happened so quickly. The chap fell through the cab and smacked his head on the adjoining metal on part of the cab.

“He was a bit shaken but carried on.”

The plasterboard was taken off the fork lift truck and the driver managed to manoeuvre the vehicle back down safely.
