Five Acre Field meeting to take place

Plans to use Five Acre Field as a space for fair grounds, the annual circus and other events is due to be discussed at a public meeting tonight (May 23).

Residents are invited to discuss the concerns they have about the plans at the Strollers Cafe in Princes Park at 6pm.

Eastbourne Borough Council has submitted the application to use the land for a wide range of events because the town’s annual circus will this year clash with the Olympic celebrations. While the town celebrates the 2012 Games on the Princes Park site, the council says the circus needs to be moved to Five Acre Field on Lottbridge Drove, opposite the Sovereign Centre.

Residents say they are concerned about noise, litter and parking issues. They are expected to raise their concerns with the council at tonight’s meeting.
