Fire brigade called to thwart female jumper

A WOMAN threatened to throw herself from the roof of a flat in Seaside.

Police officers and firefighters were called to the scene after a 43-year-old woman climbed onto the roof and said she was going to jump.

A specially trained police negotiator went on to the roof to speak to her and after an hour she agreed to come down.

The incident happened at around 9.10am last Friday morning. She was arrested under the Mental Health Act and taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital.
