Extreme weather in south

The RSPB says this year’s extreme weather has highlighted the serious climate challenge facing some of our most vulnerable wildlife across the south east.

Flooding on nature reserves across the country has taken its toll on the breeding efforts of a number of bird species.

On some affected sites, endangered species on the conservation ‘red-list’ have failed to produce any chicks entirely.

But, the charity also says there is evidence to show that some wildlife is already adapting to a changing climate, aided by conservation work.
