AN AUTHOR who has written a thriller set in Eastbourne has had his book published.

George Wensley came up with the idea for Text: Murder while staying at the Albany Lions Hotel on Eastbourne seafront and two years later has had it put into print.

He will be signing copies of his book at the Albany Lions Hotel next Tuesday (September 25) between 11am and 1pm.

George, who is 55 and semi-retired, lives in Tonbridge but after his initial stay in Eastbourne visited several more times as he wrote the book, which is about the murder investigation when the body of a beautiful young German model is washed up in a harbour near Eastbourne.

The novel, book 1 of the Rialto Trilogy, follows the male Inspector Carpenter and the female polish lieutenant DS Kaminska as they try to solve the mystery of the model’s murder through Kent countryside, London, Sark in the Channel Islands before returning to Eastbourne where Serena Williams is making a comeback.

George, who as a youngster had trouble reading and writing and is dyslexic, says the first book he read was the Wizard of Oz.

He is currently studying for a certificate in creative writing part time and is now half way through the second book in the trilogy.

He said while he enjoyed writing his first novel and found great inspiration in Eastbourne, his second book called Devil’s Gate is set in Ramsgate and Scotland.

Text: Murder is available on Amazon or to order in bookshops and is also available as an ebook.
