Eastbourne teacher agrees to be extradited back to the UK
EASTBOURNE teacher Jeremy Forrest appeared before a French court this morning as he faces extradition back to the UK.
The 30-year-old Bishop Bell School maths teacher appeared before Bordeaux’s Court of Appeal this morning in the city where he was arrested last Friday after a European Arrest Warrant was issued over child abduction.

Appearing before two male and one female magistrates. Forrest, who confirmed his name and gave his birthplace as Aberdeen, signed a three-page document in court, which is expected to give the go-ahead to his extradition on Thursday.
During the hearing, Mr Forrest, who was wearing a t-shirt, checked shirt and dark trousers, was flanked in the dock by a female interprter and two police officers.
He was asked if he agreed to return to the UK, to which he replied “yes”.
Mr Forrest’s British lawyer Phil Smith, said: BBC. “Now that he has agreed to be extradited to the UK, we look forward to the full story emerging.
“He is very appreciative of the support of his family.”
Mr Smith added Mr Forrest was “concerned about the impact of this on all those concerned”.
Forrest is currently being held in custody in Gradignan prison, on the outskirts of Bordeaux.
