Eastbourne hosting first Big Sea Swim for charity
Eastbourne sea swim.
SWIMMERS are being asked to take part in a charity swim off the coast.
The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) has chosen Eastbourne to host it’s first ever Big Sea Swim event which it hopes will encourage pool swimmers to try out open water swimming for the first time and provide seasoned sea swimmers with a new event.
The swim is on Saturday, June 30 and Tori Williams, said, “We’re delighted to launch our very first swim in Eastbourne as it’s a great opportunity to celebrate its recommended status. Our swim is open to everyone.
“There’s a 1km swim for beginners and a 3km swim for more experienced sea swimmers. Registration for the event is just £20 or £25 depending on the distance you choose and we really hope swimmers will go the ‘extra mile’ and get family and friends to sponsor them to raise even more money to help protect our amazing sea shores and wildlife.”
