Eastbourne diabetic club back after arson

EASTBOURNE and District Diabetic Club is running again and has organised an autumn fair after a devastating arson attack at their St Andrew's Church Hall meeting place.

The club has had a difficult year after they had to move their meetings from the DGH earlier in the year and then St Andrew's Church Hall, its new venue, burnt to the ground in May.

The fire meant the club was unable to hold its summer fair but they are now up and running and an autumn fair has been arranged for September 25.

There will be stalls, a raffle, tombola and refreshments in the parish hall at Christ the King Church in Princes Road between 10am and 12noon.

Club meetings have also been arranged for October 20 and November 17 at St Barnabas Church, Kingfisher Drive, near the Langney Shopping Centre.

Both talks start at 7.30pm and doors open at 7pm with tea and coffee available.

For more information please contact Phil Gardner on 01323 639286 or Janet Tillyard on 01323 508007.
