Drusilla’s open late after power cut

DRUSILLA’S in Alfriston has reopened after a power cut earlier today (August 1).

The popular tourist attraction had to open two hours late after power supplies went down in the area.

Families arriving at the zoo park for a day out during the busy school holiday period found they were unable to get in.

But it wasn’t just Drusilla’s which was affected. Around 300 other homes and properties in the surrounding area also lost power.

It happened shortly after 5am because of a fault on the overhead network.

Engineers worked to fix the problem and most customers had supplies restored by 6.40am.

However, others, including Drusilla’s, had to wait until about 12.30pm leading to the late opening time.

In a statement on its website, Drusilla’s apologises for any disappointment but says the circumstances were beyond their control.
