Days of ale and music

THE SEVENTH annual Beer Festival kicked off yesterday evening (8 October) with a packed programme of live entertainment.

Joining the wide range of ales and beers at Eastbourne's Winter Garden are nine musical acts set to entertain visitors – including the Oompah Brass on Saturday evening and local band No Exit.

Eastbourne Borough Council cabinet member for tourism Councillor Susan Morris said, "The entertainment at the Beer Festival is always very exciting and this year is no exception.

"Visitors will enjoy a great evening out with top live music as well as get first dibs on the full casks of ale.

"And if the bursting drinks menu and bands aren't enough, festival goers can expect a fabulous selection of pub grub plus the chance to triumph in the huge pub quiz."

Joining No Exit on the main stage line up for the festival is Big Al's Boogie Woogie, Joel White, Red Jackson bringing mellow Chicago Blues, Band of Two and Beve and the Beetroots.Marcella and Lacka-daisy will entertain crowds in the Devonshire Halls.

The event had almost sold out at the time the Herald went to press but there were still a few tickets remaining for Saturday morning at 11am. To book call 412000.
