Custody centre work recognised
Exceptional detective work in combating fraud and money laundering, and the dedication of a worker in an agency working alongside the police, were among the achievements recognised by Sussex Police during a ceremony held this month.
Twenty recipients were thanked and congratulated for their contribution to policing during the ceremony at the force’s Slaugham training and conference centre.
Among them was Sergeant Dan Eagle, based in the Eastbourne Custody Centre, who was presented with his award for his hard work in helping raise awareness of the profile of custody work inside the force, and in the wider community by his Twitter account @SussexPoliceCus and his Sussex Police People blog at http://www.sussex.police.uk/policing-in-sussex/the-organisation/who-we-are/sussex-police-people/dan-eagle/
Among other recipients were Marion Trendell, Head of Social Care for Specialist Services at Sussex Partnership, and detectives from the force’s Major Fraud Team.
Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Fowler, Head of the Force’s Crime and Justice Department, said; “It was an opportunity to recognise the work of our officers and staff, and the contribution made by a partner agency.
“Several of the awards went to colleagues whose work is not personally publicised because of its sensitive but absolutely vital contribution to law enforcement and keeping our communities safe.
“I was very proud to be able thank them all for their dedicated service.
