Councillor’s campaign for A27 works gathers pace
The campaign for improvements to the A27 between Polegate and Beddingham is gathering pace.
Eastbourne Borough Councillor Patrick Warner says the improvements are important for road safety and will ‘unlock the economic potential’ of Eastbourne and the surrounding area.
Cllr Warner was interviewed this week on the BBC about the campaign and said, “My radio interview was followed by a really interesting debate during which numerous local residents and businesses backed the cross party campaign in an effort to improve road safety, cut congestion and pollution, improve safe access to the many picturesque villages and tourist spots along the route and to unlock the economic potential of the wider area.”
Cllr Warner is hoping to drum up more support by taking a paper petition out on the streets of Eastbourne.
In the meantime, he is calling on locals to sign the e-petition, which can be found at epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/42147
