Commissioner hopeful wants quick responses

A FORMER magistrate who has his hopes pinned on becoming Sussex Police Commissioner says victims of anti-social behaviour should get a response within 24 hours of making a complaint.

Godfrey Daniel is the Labour Party’s candidate and wants to introduce a shake-up in the way anti-social behaviour is tackled by police. He believes anyone who has been a victim or reported anti-social behaviour deserves a prompt response from officers. Mr Daniel said, “This Government is weakening action on anti-social behaviour, scrapping ASBOs for weaker measures and making people wait longer for a response. People in Sussex know that’s not good enough.

“I will work with our chief constable to ensure victims get a swift response. People should get a response within 24 hours.” Visit www.godfreydaniel.org.uk
