Once again members of Royal Eastbourne Golf Club have shown their support for local lifeboat crews with another donation.

Current men’s captain and
long-time friend of Eastbourne lifeboats, Jerry Cowell, nominated the appeal as his chosen charity for his year of captaincy and the club raised £6, 000 over the year.

The majority of the money was from Jerry’s Captain’s Day competition and dinner back in the summer.

In accepting the cheque on behalf of the appeal, operations manager Paul Metcalfe thanked Jerry and all the members of Royal Eastbourne for their continued support and said the money will go a long way to ensuring the station can continue saving lives at sea.
