Carol singers fail in record attempt

Festive singers in Eastbourne failed in their bid to beat a Guinness World Record carol singing event.

People at churches across the town took part in the attempt to have the most number of people singing the same carols at the same time.

But the Guinness World Record said unfortunately the countrywide attempt had not broken last year’s World Record of 18,114. The current total stands at 12,964.

Erik Cornelisse at Old Town Community Church said, “Okay, we didn’t break any record, but still had a great time.”

Worshippers at Suncoast Church also took part.
