Carnival plans are getting underway

With just three months to go to this year’s Eastbourne carnival, organisers say the response has been good so far.

The event takes place on Saturday May 25 with businesses, organisations, charities and individuals set to take part in the seafront procession from Princes Park to the Western Lawns. The theme is Sussex by the Sea.

Dave Cooper is the carnival pageant master and says he wants this year’s spectacular to be bigger than ever.

“We want the event to be a great success and as far as we are concerned the more the merrier,” he said.

“A number of organisations have already signed up demonstrating the continued support for the event and we were very pleased with the messages of support we received after last year’s carnival. The event will be a great opportunity to show the town what you do, whether you are a community group, charity or commercial organisation.”
