A business has had thousands of pounds worth of stock damaged after a ceiling collapsed.

Greenworx in Cavendish Place suffered damage to its showroom and to stock in the basement. The shop is currently closed but thanks to the goodwill of a fellow business, staff have set up a mobile office at Rumblebellys in nearby Seaside Road.

Mark Potter, a director of Greenworx – a plumbing and electrical firm which specialises in renewable technologies – said he believed the collapse was caused by heavy rain.

He added, “It’s now onwards and upwards. It’s business as usual.”
