Breaking News: Tory councillor quits to fight for police position

Conservative councillor Nigel Goodyear has resigned from Eastbourne Borough Council.

The popular Meads councillor is quitting so he can stand as an independent candidate in the contest for a new police commissioner later this year.

A by-election will be held on May 31.
