Beer Festival invitation for local charities

EASTBOURNE Borough Council and CAMRA organisers of the 10th annual Eastbourne Beer Festival are looking to team up with four charities at this year’s festival (October 4-6).

Friday night is already a sell-out with the Thursday and Saturday night sessions expected to follow and more than 1,000 visitors expected to the Saturday day time session.

The organisers are offering four local charities the chance to showcase their charity with a stand at one of the sessions of the event and also to be the nominated charity for one of the four sessions with collecting buckets on bars and collecting rights at their session.

They will also have web links from www.visiteastbourne.com, to the chosen charity’s website plus inclusion in press releases and on the Tasting Notes given to every ticket holder with a festival glass upon arrival.

In return the organisers will be asking the nominated charity to supply 12 staff to assist on the bars over their nominated session.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said, “The beer festival has reached its 10th year and is a great night out for many residents and visitors and we have in the past had some associated charities working with us.

“This year we want to spread the benefit to cover all four sessions with four charities benefitting from public donations. To assist with the collection the organisers will also provide a donation towards the nominated charity.”

If you would like to be considered as a nominated charity for this year’s Eastbourne Beer Festival send either a letter to Mike Marchant, Events Development Manager, Eastbourne Borough Council, Tourism and Leisure, 1 Grove Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN21 4TW or email to events@eastbourne.gov.uk

Provide some details about the charity and in no more than 250 words why your charity should be considered as a nominated charity by 5pm on Tuesday, September 12.
