Battling Annabel swims eight hours for charity

Annabel Hudson

Annabel Hudson

FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD Annabel Hudson tackled an eight-hour non-stop charity swim in memory of her late grandfather Brian.

Annabel started her marathon feat in Eastbourne College’s pool at 9am and kept going until 5pm.

She even managed to eat and drink in the pool while keeping moving with the aid of a swim float.

Annabel was encouraged throughout the day by her parents, brother, sister and grandmother – and College lifeguard Matt Allchorn.

The money raised by Annabel’s swim will be divided between two charities: ECHO, the school charity, and ORBIS, her grandfather’s favourite charity.

ORBIS is a charity that helps partially-sighted and blind people in countries, such as Africa and Vietnam.
