Banned from drinking in public in Seaford

SHE’S been convicted on several occassions for being drunk and disorderly in Seaford, but now Amy Winter has been handed an Anti Social Behaviour Order.

The 33-year-old has been told she cannot drink alcohol or be drunk in a public place.

This follows her conviction at Brighton Magistrates’ Court last month of assaulting a police constable in June last year and then assaulting a PCSO, of common assault and committing a public order offence in September.

Winter was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, which she served on remand, and she has been given the ASBO.

Sussex Police have revealed that her conviction for the four offences followed nine others for being drunk and disorderly last summer in Seaford.

Miss Winter was abusive to members of the public and was often heard screaming and shouting in the middle of night.

PC Dave Newman, the Lewes District Anti-Social Behavior Officer, said: “Miss Winter’s ASBO is a great result and one we hope that will encourage her to stop offending in this manner.

“The police were called to her former address dozens of times and she has had a huge impact on the community due to her alcohol-fuelled behaviour, not only in Seaford but also at her previous address in Newhaven.

“I hope this reassures the public that we do take anti-social behaviour seriously and will take positive action against offenders such as Miss Winter.”
